The existing platform was part traditional build, with a suspended timber platform construction under the canopy areas. To the canopy area the timber deck and supporting timbers were removed and replaced with a frp adjustable deck laid on frp beams.

The remainder of the platform was constructed using Mountbridge Adjustable Platform Overlay System TM (Patent no: 2515519) set on concrete ground beams. These areas required parts of the platform to be raised 200mm and fully supported oversail of 180mm to achieve NR standard gauge.
